Capricorn is the tenth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Capricornus. Considered a "feminine", negative sign it is also an earth sign and is one of four cardinal signs. Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Capricorn roughly from December 22 to January 20. Under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently there roughly from January 15 to February 12.
The sign of Capricorn is ruled by the stern planet Saturn and those born under this sign often find life arduous and demanding. They pit themselves against life, working in a determined, careful way until they reach the top of the mountain. Only then do they feel secure and fulfilled. The Capricorn path is often a very lonely one as they have no time for pleasure and relaxation. Capricorns can endure any hardship and deprivation if they feel they are nearing their goals. Often they achieve their greatest success in later life.
These individuals are never afraid of responsibility, domestically or professionally. For whatever reason, they are likely to attract far greater responsibilities than other people. Family members may feel neglected as the Capricorn relentlessly requires possessions and status. Whichever professional arena they choose, and they can excel in any, they will undertake their duties with great seriousness.
Capricorn individuals must beware that they do not miss out on life's joys because they always have their nose to the grindstone. They need to achieve a balance between work and love and relaxation. The opposite sign, Cancer, can teach them a great deal about giving due acknowledgement to the importance of shared emotions and the nurturing of others.
